In a recent Email I was asked how to make masks for different skin types and which clay would be suitable for sensitive skin.
Although clay masks are thought to be drying, they contain great benefits for the skin, and can be used very successfully in your beauty routine.
General Use Instructions
Mix a small amount of clay with water until a smooth paste is obtained. All skin types may use an herbal infusion or flower waters instead of water to increase the healing action, or may add a small amount of essential oil to the clay mixture. Apply a thin layer of the paste to your face. Leave for 10 - 15 minutes or until dried before rinsing with warm water.
If you have dry or sensitive skin, you may rinse the treatment off after 5 minutes, before it is completely dried.
Before applying the mask, make sure that the skin is cleansed properly and dried by patting it with a towel.
If you have never used essential oils, and are prone to allergies, make sure that you do a skin patch test before using any of them.
After applying any of the masks, leave on for at least 15 minutes while relaxing, and wash off with lukewarm water and pat the skin dry. Apply moisturizer.
